An opening ceremony was held on May 21 morning at the 9/11 memorial located at the former World Trade Centre of lower Manhattan. A 30ft American flag was handed over to the museum representative during the ceremony. The flag was hung nearby the World Trade Centre when the devastated tragedy took place, and it will now become one of the exhibits in the museum.
The museum features 110,000 square feet and contains artifacts from 9/11 terrorist attacks, including photographs and videos on the day of the attack, portraits of the victims and their stories. Some exhibits, such as the debris of World Trade Centre, give a powerful and painful picture of the tragic day.
